Electric conversion for my Fiat 500 - day 3

Today, taking half of the afternoon off work I have been able to remove the engine.

Initially I was thinking to be able to lower the engine off the bottom of the car but this can't be done. You need to remove the back body bar holding the bumper to hook off the engine from the transmission.

STEP 13
Detach starter cable.

STEP 14
Detach the ground neutral cable connected the engine.

STEP 15
Detach the motor shock absorber swing arm.
Key 17mm 2 bolts.

STEP 16
Unfasten the starter motor.
Key 13mm, 3 bolts.

STEP 17
Remove starter motor.

STEP 18
Hook up the engine and/or put a jack below the motor. An inflatable cushion of sort could also work.

STEP 19
Unfasten the back body bar/post.
Key 13mm, 2x2 bolts.

STEP 20
Remove the back body bar/post.

STEP 21
Slide back the engine and lower it off the transmission.

NEXT STEP

Clean up the housing bell.

Clean up and store the engine.

Clean up the engine compartment.

Tidy up all cables and electric wires. Some may be reused.

Get ready to install new adaptor plate and motor.
