Am I venturing into a restoration or conversion project?

I don't know, probably both!

The first electric Fiat 500 was made back in 1967 when a concept car was presented at the "Salone dell'auto di Torino" / "Turin Car Show" by the constructor Giannini.

That car had a 3KW motor running at 48V and 160 Ah. It was capable of reaching 50 K/h speed and a range of 100 Km.
